On Thursday, March 4, 2010, supporters of the sister communities—New Orleans & Haiti—will connect afterwork at the Popular I-Bankers Bar, Lea Lounge, to donate to New Orleans and Haiti relief organizations as part of a series of New York events leading up to the big volunteer gathering in New Orleans during the week of the 5th Anniversary of Katrina (August 22nd – 29th, 2010). This will be a “Woodstock”-like event combining the powers of music and volunteerism organized by the K5NOLA™ Group to propel a new movement of social activism.
During this week, the entertainment, fashion, and sports industries alongside thousands of student and other volunteers will conduct fundraisers and help with building homes and strategizing for Haiti relief efforts!
About K5NOLA
K5NOLA™ was organized by a group of New Orleans Saints Fans linked up in New York to raise funds and awareness to build homes for displaced residents through Film/Concert/Run-Walk events for the 5th Anniversary of Katrina. After the earthquakes struck in Haiti, the Haitian cause was quickly incorporated given the tremendous history between the two. The Stars 4 Foundation® is supporting these efforts.
