Biography from www.noassemblymusic.com
Justin Long, one of Chicago's house music pioneers, began DJing at the young age of 15. His early musical influences ranged from Joy Division and Depeche Mode to the Sex Pistols. In 1988, Justin discovered house music on WBMX radio, which directed him into the world of house music where he has helped shape the Chicago House sound into what it is today.
During the past 14 years, Justin has accomplished more than most could imagine in the house music industry. In the early 90's, Justin began DJing at underground events throughout the Midwest with the likes of Derrick, Carter, Cajmere and Traxx. Soon thereafter, more gigs followed and Justin's name became synonymous with Chicago House music. In 1999, Justin was the founding DJ on Chicago's Q101 Sonic Boom Radio; one of the longest running mix shows in the United States. Sonic Boom airs every Saturday night with a listening audience well over 70,000 people.
While touring for the past nine years, Justin has made frequent visits throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico and Europe, including repeat visits to headline UK venues such as Back to Basics, Sub Club, Sankey's Soap and Scuba. In addition, Justin has made countless guest appearances and held residencies in Chicago's best nightclubs such as Red Dog, 112 Green Street, Karma, Slick's Lounge and Zentra. Currently, Justin hosts a monthly residency at Cloud Nine in Cleveland as well as heading one of Chicago's premier house events entitled .Dotbleep. .Dotbleep takes place once a month at Smartbar, with guests such as: Traxx, Huggy (UK), Dan X, Natural Rhythm, Paul Woolford and Lance DeSardi. In the studio, Justin is working closely with Dan X under the moniker "No Assembly Firm". Together, Justin and Dan have completed over two dozen projects including original and remix work for highly acclaimed record labels such as Classic, Music For Freaks, Aroma, Cajual, Robsoul, Doubledown, Greens Keepers Music, Viva! and many more. Justin and Dan perform together frequently, headlining venues across the globe. These sounds and performances have captured a cult following and can be heard in regular rotation worldwide on "The Move" on XM radio.
Along with performing and producing, Justin works in conjunction with 20:20 Vision to run his own record label, .Dotbleep Recordings which features artists such as: Natural Rhythm, Lavish Habits and Miles Maeda. In it's early stages, .Dotbleep has drawn quite a bit of attention and looks to follow it's Chicago successors, Cajual and Classic. Justin continues to push the boundaries of house music, while constantly refining himself as an artist.
Steve Bronz Born in Saginaw, Michigan. Steve spent his first 23 years learning the suburban life. From break dancing to Michael Jackson in the mid 80's to bobbin' his head to hip hop in the early 90's to rockin' out to Pearl Jam in the mid 90's, something was still missing. In October 1998, he transplanted to Phoenix, Arizona. At the end of 2001 after a nice farewell to Arizona, Bronz moved to New York City in April 2002 then to begin his career in Djing in March of 2003. Mostly spinning on his decks at home, he met a resident DJ of a popular NYC hang out. DJ Nicolae of the extremely well known NYC party, Playground, was the beginning point as Bronz's debut began in September, 2003. Ever since then he hasn't looked back. He has aggressively been booking gigs at popular night spots such as Avalon, Sullivan Room, BLVD, Sin Sin, Punch, Le Souk, Faluka, Ruby Lounge, Raga and Keybar. As well as booking gigs here in NYC, he's been booked once a month starting this summer 2005 at Blue, Miami in conjunction with Evolution Session playing with J.J. Jefferson a Venezuelan import. Playing along side the likes of Steve Porter, Andrew Grant, Justin Long, Jon Lemmon and Marc George, Bronz has all ready gained much more respect than he's expected and lays the vinyl smoothly to getcha movin' with his flow of relentless house beats-dirty funky chunky style.
For his collaboration with Gaby Pereira of FusionClique Productions, he wants to reach new heights of music production and elements of djing influenced heavily by many such as Danny Tenaglia, Deep Dish, Sander Kleinenberg & "Daddy Howells" playing regularly at "Arc", a popular NYC nightclub on the weekends. He has been featured previously on a long time radio show on Metromixradio.com with DJ Apotheosis and will be appearing in a guest spot on Abovegroundradio.com with Brian Owen in the near future.
He also feels that that all is well in the EDM scene in New York, you just have to decide where you want to take it. He says, "Take it to the next level!"
Alex Pearce (FTWK) Alex Pearce has a passion for house music. He's a DJ who's style blends elements of funky, tribal and progressive house music into one. Alex first arrived on the EDM scene in NY in 2000, running the Kinetic records promotional street team at the time. He went on to become a partner in the Touched By a DJ production company, and a resident at Liquids Lounge (the Moist night). Since then he's held residences at both Delft and the Future Progression loft (futureprogression.com); large one off events have included performances at Centrofly, Discoteque, the Roxy, BLVD, and the Lunaterium playing alongside world class talent such as Peace Division, Max Graham, Ferry Corsten, Charles Feelgood, Demi (Deeper Substance), Justin Long, Danny 'Buddah' Morales and Luis Diaz. Playing out regularly at local scenster parties over the past year has created a buzz for Alex in the NY scene. He's also been a frequently featured guest on Victor Dinaire's XM radio show Resident Nation, broadcast around the world on satellite radio. For his latest live mixes check out www.djalexpearce.com
Tonito (Playground) Originally from Paris, Antoine (DJ Tonito) arrived in New York in 2001 and immediately fell in love with the city. His passion for Electronic and House music led him to start Djing and going out to Vinyl (both Dannys had much influence…), Centro-Fly or Filter 14. Antoine started playing out thanks to the Playground crew at Sin Sin with DJs Nicolae and Bronzie. His many styles (depending on his drunkenness…), vary from Funky French house music to energic tech-house beats… Antoine just loves bringing a great vibe to the party!
