LAVO seems to meet all the requirements for a successful restaurant venture in Manhattan these days (sad as that may be)—but the surprise is that the food actually lives up to the hype. Backed by New York nightlife guru Noah Tepperberg, LAVO seems to be all about connections. You’ll need one, of course, to score a reservation in the first place, to get past the velvet ropes and to find a seat once inside.
