An enormous Nolita nightlife compound with lounge, dance floor and restaurant under one roof. Simple, modern decor pervades the vast 18,000-square-foot nightlife multiplex. The sheer luxury of the space is made more apparent by its lack of frou-frou ambience. A blue-lit, spaceship-like ceiling fixture and a dramatic 45-foot glazed-oak bar separates the front lounge from the many back rooms, which include an iron-doored VIP room, a DJ-manned dance floor rotating Top 40 tunes and a puffy, suede-canopied restaurant.

A more relaxed, friendlier vibe separates BLVD from similar megaclubbing establishments, but there's still a strong singles scene. Picture guys in button-down striped shirts and cleavage-sporting gals in tight-fitting tops jostling to order Bailey's shots. However, patrons may have a hard time spotting--let alone pursuing--their future significant other given the thick weekend crowds. The restaurant offers an escape from the fray. The Panamanian-influenced menu includes ceviche, oysters and empanadas as appetizers and entrees such as grilled sugarcane shrimp and pork tenderloin marinated in lime and rum.

Nice decor, but no life
[Venue Rating: Not Recommended]

We showed up for the open bar on the day and time listed. No sponsored drinks, no free admission.
The 6 ladies I brought doubled the female population, and I didn't even get comped.
The place was empty till 1:00, and even then, left enough room for us to swing dance, on a Sat night no less.
